BURN BACK BETTER
Gold Panners,
We who live in the forest are thankful to those who stand up to “authority” when they know authority is on the wrong track. Burn Back Better is not the same as controlled burns. The Naive Indigenous Peoples practiced controlled burns before the pioneers and miners ever arrived here. In most of today’s “managed” forests, covered wagons wouldn’t even be capable of traveling through our over-grown forests. It seems in this modern era of enlightenment and science it is still the original Native Americans who knew/know best how to care for the natural environment. How much damage do we have to endure before we too become wise in the ways of Nature and strong enough in our convictions to not listen to fools?
This is especially alarming to those of us who live in El Dorado where 46% of our total county area is comprised of forests owned by the U.S. Government.

Subject: USFS Personnel Instructed to Let Fires Burn
Good afternoon all,
My wife Dana's excellent article about the United States Forest Service (USFS) policy of letting fires burn instead of putting them out came out today in the Nevada Globe. Here is the link:
USFS Chief Randy Moore has doubled down on this philosophy for THIS COMING fire year - just as was the case with the Caldor fire. But now the policy is much more pronounced and not hidden - kinda like the defund the police movement. USFS firefighters are there to manage the fire and let it burn instead of putting the fire out as quickly as possible.
I certainly hope everyone on this list agrees this is totally outrageous. People will lose their homes and their fire insurance as a result of this policy.
And if you are saying to yourself "this simply cannot be true", please listen to this: Dana vetted her articles with many, many firefighters across this country. Most importantly for us in Tahoe, she vetted this article with our own Tahoe Douglas Fire Chief Scott Lindgren.
Many of these firefighters are quoted extensively in Dana's article. I urge you to send this article to all of your neighbors.
Best,
Brett Tibbitts
