Many Comparisons with El Dorado State

Alberta, Canada, is going through much of the same as we in El Dorado. We say, “Don’t California Our El Dorado State”; they say, “Don’t be too Otta wan in Your Thinking.” Theirs is a Grassroots movement much like ours with many of the same concerns and possible consequences, which brought up a concern in my mind that you might be wondering…what is the make-up and motivation of the Committee for El Dorado Statehood? In today’s world the word ‘Trust’ can’t be trusted, because nothing seems trustworthy. Some of the questions we hear are, “When we become a State, will we be jumping from the pan into the fire politically?” “Can we afford economic independence?” All good concerns, and No and Yes…Trust Me!

We are your neighbors from all 5 Supervisor Districts who are concerned about the degradation we have lived and witnessed by living in the once beautiful California. The California of sunshine, movie stars, and promise has become the cesspool of over-taxation, over-socialization, over-neglect, over-corruption, over-taken by bad laws, invasion, broken promises, etc. Many of our friends and family have left for other states but we refuse to give up because we love where we live and have historical and family ties here. We are Average Joes and Janes, a former business owner, supervisor, veteran, web-site designer, teacher, construction workers, with no ambitions, that I’m aware of, to make money or gain fame or position from the new State. We just want to live the promised AMERICAN DREAM, not the California NIGHTMARE, and our northern neighbors just want to live the CANADIAN PROMISE.

We want a new and different, very limited, State Constitution with innovation for the new Ai world and accountability from those to whom we give power. Like the Canadians, we want the State to keep the peace, resolve disputes in the courts with Natural Common Law, ensure safety from natural and man-made causes, return to common-sense limited laws that benefit the larger community, and fill the potholes, etc.

We are currently endeavoring to bring our Resolution to the 5 Supervisors to put on the 2026 ballot an ADVISORY QUESTION of YES or NO to STATEHOOD. By doing a Resolution we are bringing the Question to the People just as was done with the County Charter. You can help with this by calling or emailing your supervisor and requesting this be done.
