The history of separatists and separatism isn’t exactly peopled with the most shining examples of heroic humanity you know? Why not try adopting a little economic class consciousness and express some solidarity with all your hard working brothers and sisters in the rest of the state of California and a little less failed bourgeois separatist resentment about the fact that the richest rentier Californians and their neoliberal capitalist ideology haven’t treated you to the fucking super soft ice cream birthday party you think you deserved, so now you’re gonna throw a tantrum take your GameBoy and go hide in your room? Grow up!
That thought has occurred to us all at some point of course Marsha. But there’s always room for one more on the GOOD side of the ramparts and tire fires with the rest of us wage-earning working-class citizens who’ve had it with both the 2%ers AND the haute-bourgeois and the self-important Großburgertum small city big shots who scramble and fawn and trip over themselves for the attention and the crumbs left behind by the 2% instead of helping us lead their fellow working class townspeople and neighbors to make real change we can all benefit from.
As long as we refuse to get dragged into the cynical divisive bullshit culture war we cannot lose. We are always stronger together. Stay strong citizen!
